Cross Plains Trail Day

  • Rosemary Garfoot Public Library 2107 Julius Street Cross Plains, WI 53528 (map)

Join us for the 2019 Cross Plains Trail Day Hike Saturday, September 14.

There will be a hike in the Ice Age Trail Alliance headquarters hometown and Ice Age Trail Community of Cross Plains. The first 30 people will receive swag bags filled with goodies from local and outdoors businesses.

Hike: There will be two loops of hilly, yet moderate level of difficulty. Go bold and get in a 6-mile hike, or, be more moderate in your ambitions and choose one of the 3-mile options. Both approaches are perfectly acceptable and great hikes. Meet at the Cross Plains Library 2107 Julius Street at 9:00 am.

The first loop starts at shelter near the library, heads north through the Anderson Preserve and returns to shelter for a 3-mile hike.

The second loop continues from the shelter and then head towards the south along Bourbon Road and up the hill into the Glacial Valley Conservancy, which hosts a new section of Ice Age Trail, and then heads back to the shelter to complete another 3-mile loop.

Dress for the weather, sun/bug protection, sturdy footwear, trekking poles. Don’t forget water and camera.

After the hike, enjoy all that Cross Plains has to offer! Visit the Cross Plains Area Chamber of Commerce website to learn more about local businesses and the area.
